2026 (and 2025) so far - Update

2025:

It was a busy 2025 with much time taken by the development of Unify2 - Unify2 was released at the end of October, and has received several updates since, including a new built in plugin ‘NoteMate’ which less you do chord to midi channel splits independent of position on the keyboard, but also lets you use it as a live performance patch switcher.

We also managed to squeeze in an update of Hyperion v1.65 in the summer, with a new node - the ‘Hyperpipe’ node, inspired by the Steampipe hardware.

The Unify2 launch has been a great success with very positive feedback from our customers - it brings a lot of new features to the table (many of which Shane Dunne had started the work on but needed completion - such as the recording feature), as well as a completely redesigned interface and much enhanced version of the Gurusampler with a powerful mod-matrix and new polyphonic modulation (including 2 extra LFOs and polyphonic aftertouch support).

Buchla and Friends 2026 / Headless Hyperion:

PluginGuru and Wavesequencer attended Buchla and Friends in January - we showed off Unify2 and Hyperion - overall a great event which generated plenty of interest.

Around the same time as the event was going on ‘Headless Hyperion’ was made available for all Unify2 license holders - this is a zero UI version of Hyperion that is now bundled with Unify2 - it' lets users access the sound libraries of Hyperion without needing to own the full Hyperion plugin license - however to get access to the full interface requires purchasing a license. The nice thing about this new tool in the Unify2 box is that patch designers can make use of Hyperion as part of the Unify2 bundled/built in tools, safe in the knowledge that these sounds can be shared to all owners of Unify2.

SynthFest:

Paul - AKA Wavesequencer attended SynthFest France in April 2026 - here are some videos related to the event:

Hyperion was recently used to demo DMS by Jean Claude Dubois (https://jcd-music.com/ ) - DMS is based on the DIGISEQUENCER which is a product originally developed for Jean Michel Jarre which succeeded the original MATRISEQUENCER 250 designed by Michel Geiss (I met Jean Claude during Synthfest since he was showing his sequencer product):

Unify2 Update 2.04.0:

Unify 2.04.0 is about to be released, featuring a major update to the step sequencer GUI and features as well as improved patch switch handling and bug fixes for some UI scaling issues in GuruSampler 2.

Other projects/Synths:

Another Wavesequencer project is still in the works and future updates for Hyperion are planned - watch this space!
